Appointments
Generally, it is preferred that students schedule an appointment to be seen. For individuals being seen for the first time, they should arrive a few minutes prior to the scheduled appointment in order to complete necessary paperwork. Appointments may be made by calling either 601-815-4233 (Ann Pace) or 601-815-4236 (Dr. Brown); by email at jbrown2@acadaff.umsmed.edu; or by stopping by the Academic Counseling Services office.
Hours
The Academic Counseling Services office is open year-round from 8:00 a.m. until noon and from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For individuals unable to come at other times, arrangements can be made to be seen over the lunch hour as well as before and after regular office hours.
A Note to Faculty
While individual students must make their own appointments to be seen, faculty members have an important role in referring and encouraging students to seek assistance offered. Faculty members should always feel free to call with questions or to obtain information about available services and their relevance for particular students.
